Program Fashion, Beauty & Entertainment "Burst" (FBE-B-LA) LOS ANGELES, CA DATES: August 20 - 29, 2010 (5 sessions) 30 total hours of shooting, instruction and edit/critique. SCHEDULE: Friday, August 20, (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm) Saturday, August 21 (all day); Sunday, August 22 (all day); Saturday, August 28 (all day); Sunday, August 29 (10:00 am - 1:00 pm) ENROLLMENT & DEPOSIT DEADLINE: $600 by July 20, 2010. Maximum number of students is 10. TUITION: $1200 (includes the $600 initial deposit payment). Includes professional crews, models, actor/mmusician and locations. Breakfast included on shoot days. We accept credit cards; 10% discount for students who have completed a program with us before; an additional $100 refundable security deposit is required for equipment usage. DESCRIPTION: This advanced "creative burst" program is taught in the real world of fashion and entertainment editorial photography, designed to help build portfolios on a competitive level and develop an understanding of the "inside codes" of the industry. Providing authentic, professional production teams (makeup, hair, wardrobe stylists, models...), this short version of our immersion program is about the do's-and-don'ts of shooting fashion and entertainment, in the tradition of successful fashion magazines - and creating photos that can compete at a higher level than self-produced photography. You will shoot three story assignments - one fashion, one beauty and one entertainment - with our award-winning veteran fashion photographer, Steven Silverstein, providing creative direction and feedback. Students shoot models, plus an actor or musician, one-on-one, and learn first-hand lighting, angles, lenses, framing, how to work with your subjects, and background on hair/makeup/styling. In addition, the program includes an edit session to learn mistakes and successes. At-home editing is required during the week as well. Final images may be included in our online gallery. We do not require you to have fashion photos but you should have an "eye" for fashion and be at an intermediate to advanced shooting level.
